The Truth About Mother’s Day

It’s not secret that PregoFIT loves celebrating Mothers, so of course the PregoFIT team snatched up the chance this Mother’s Day to ask people…”What does Mother’s Day mean to YOU?” Here’s what they said.

What is normal? What is healthy?!

Everyone wants to be ‘normal’.  Have you considered ‘being healthy’ instead of normal.  We believe a healthy Baby begins with Mom!  It starts with her thinking, which leads to her decisions.  So, begin asking yourself, ‘what is healthy?’ before each action you take. Bless you!

Catapulting One’s Self out of the Pits!

I began to touch on this yesterday.  There are MANY ways to catapult yourself out of an emotionally low pit, and not all of those ways may be considered healthy.  So, I want to share a few of the healthy ways that I have discovered over the years and that seem to work beautifully. 1)   Nuzzle your nose up against your newborn’s head, take a deep breath, and inhale the sweet and innocent aroma of your newborn’s head. I believe this is a natural endorphin.  Whenever I breathe in deeply my baby’s head, it helps settle me.  There is an energy-high that I experience combined with a strong sense of peace that everything is going to be okay.  Try it! 2)   Start a Gratitude Journal I have been keeping a daily gratitude journal for a number of years.  However, some seasons I am more diligent to write in it (read more…)

How many sizes are in your closet?!

I completely understand a woman having a wide range of sizes in her closet – especially if she has been pregnant before!  I have no idea how many sizes of clothes I have that fit ALL the different shapes my body has gone through, but my closet still seems to not be able to meet my emotional needs when getting ready for the day!  I’m not quite in my pre-pregnancy clothes and the maternity clothes are too big, so I have to choose to have a muffin top or my pants to be very saggy.  Getting ME ready these days seems harder and longer than getting my three girls ready!  Like I said, based on how I feel about the way that I look, my emotional level is low.  The good news is I have SO MUCH MORE to be thankful for to catapult me out of that pit! Choosing (read more…)

You don’t have to exercise like a Rock Star…just Exercise!

I am currently coaching several of my friends in all aspects of their life – physically, socially, professionally, family, spiritually, and long-term dreams.  I’m offering them accountability and helping them properly set goals that are according to their goals.  I’m having a lot of fun with each of them and it is so exciting to see them hit small goals, as well as hit milestones.  One of the girls set a goal of exercising four times each week, but was unsatisfied with her performance even when she would report that she hit her goal.  She would say that she ‘doesn’t feel like a Rock Star when she exercises’. I liked her analogy and could understand her thoughts and feelings, although I encouraged her to exercise anyway.  So much of exercising is staying committed to the exercise schedule.  I do think we need to exercise at 70-90% of our MHR (maximum heart rate) regularly (read more…)
