PregoFIT Workouts FAQs

12.  Who is the guy with Kristen in the TTC PregoFIT Club Workout videos and the PostPregoFIT & Beyond Club Workout videos?  He is Tony Dodson, Kristen’s older brother.  He has been a professional athlete from 1996 to 2007, and a certified personal trainer since 2002, and one of Kristen’s favorite people.  Kristen loved filming these videos with her brother!  She says her heart smiles every time she watches an exercise clip.  She only wishes her father could have seen these videos too.  He passed away in the fall of 2010.  She knows he would have loved seeing and enjoying the two of them work together!  More PregoFIT Club info ->

13.  Do I need a gym membership to do the PregoFIT Workout programs?  No.  All the workouts (TTC, Prenatal, and Postpartum) can be done in the privacy of your own home.  They are designed to inspire women to workout even with limited time.  We know going to the gym requires more expense, time in the day, and sometimes childcare.  We don’t want to add another thing to a Mom’s list.  We want exercising to be made as easy as possible for all Moms and Moms-to-be.  We have made these workouts so you can simply do them at home.

14.  What equipment do I need for the PregoFIT (Prenatal) Workouts (whether by DVD, Digital Download, or via the PregoFIT Club) program?

    • Dumbbells — 2 or 3 sets; for example:  2 lb., 5 lb., and 8 lb. OR 5 lb., 8 lb. 12 lb.
    • Exercise ball (also known as a Swiss ball or Birthing ball). For women under 6 feet tall, we recommend the 55″ exercise ball and for women over 6 feet tall, we recommend the 65″ exercise ball.
    • Resistance bands — 2 or 3 different levels of resistance
    • Soft surface — carpeted area or an extra-thick mat

15.  What equipment do I need for the PregoFIT TTC (Trying To Conceive) Club Workouts and/or the PostPregoFIT & Beyond (Postpartum) Club Workouts?

    • Dumbbells — 2 or 3 sets; for example:  2 lb., 5 lb., and 8 lb. OR 5 lb., 8 lb. 12 lb.
    • BOSU (OPTIONAL); when the BOSU is used for the recommended exercises it will intensify the exercise on the muscles
    • Resistance bands – 2 or 3 different levels of resistance
    • Bench (OPTIONAL)
    • Body Bar (OPTIONAL); if needed, dumbbells can be used instead of a body bar.

16.  How much weight do I use for the dumbbells requirement?  This is up to you and your level of fitness.   We suggest owning at least 2 sets, if not 3+ dumbbell sets.  For example:  2 lb., 5 lb., and 8 lb. OR 5 lb., 8 lb. 12 lb.

17.  Why/when do I need to purchase a BOSU, bench, or body bar for the workouts?  If you specifically interested in any of the PostPregoFIT & Beyond Workouts, we would recommend you purchasing a BOSU.  Occasionally an exercise with a BOSU will be within a daily workout and although the exercise can be accomplished without a BOSU, it does make for a more intense workout.  And, when the exercises are more intense, it ultimately triggers the body and creates the results we are interested in achieving.

18.  Do I have to purchase a bench?  No, you do not have to purchase a bench.  Whenever an exercise with a bench is mentioned, you can simply use the floor (if the bench is positioned parallel to the floor) or lean against stacked pillows (if the bench is in the incline position).  Although we do recommend investing into your ‘home gym’ equipment by purchasing these few pieces.  The additional equipment piece can make exercises more intense which ultimately triggers the body and creates the best results.

19.  Do I have to purchase a body bar?  No, you do not have to purchase a body bar.  You can simply use dumbbells whenever a body bar exercise is suggested.  Although we do recommend investing into your ‘home gym’ equipment by purchasing these few pieces.  The additional equipment piece can make exercises more intense which ultimately triggers the body and creates the best results.

20.  Why does Tony sometimes refer to men when talking to the audience?  We have heard COUNTLESS of stories of the Dads in the Mom’s lives being a part of our workout programs, too.  We love those testimonies!  We are thankful for the Dads that workout with their women.  It is very encouraging to them and so we have chosen for our videos to encourage the Dads (by addressing them) to encourage their women to keep to their workouts.  ;-)
